Photo Ladder

On one of my many pinterest searches, I found this awesome photo ladder created by Kendra over at Sweet_Ambitions. I just knew I had to have one, so my adventure began!!
I went to the wood pile out behind the kiddos clubhouse to search for branches. When I got there I got the crap scared out of me. Mr. Woody the wood chuck was sitting on the pile and jump off.I ran and hid around the corner.LOL!!Big CHICKEN, right. We played peek-a-boo with each other, then I finally went and got my branches.
My wonderful hubby cut the pieces the sizes I needed. The steps are (4)12 in. and the side pieces are (2)4 ft. 8 in. I placed the steps about 10 in. apart. The berry branches I picked up at Hobby Lobby for $1.47 ea. The pictures frames I picked up at Michael's for $1 and painted them with white acrylic paint. I am going to do the same she done and put black and white photos in it.

It turned out a little crocked looking but I love how it looks. To me it looks really natural like that. Well, I hope you enjoyed my creations.

It Pay To Be Cheap Contest

This is my entry for the It Pays To Be Cheap contest over at Cheap Crafty Mama

I saw this wreath on Tip Junkie's blog site and thought it was super cute. So here is my version.I already had the felt which was given to me ( $0.00f for that), the hay wreath was purchased at a yard sale for a pack of 10 for $1.00( so $0.10 for that), the wire, holding the stars, was purchased at Michaels on clearance for $0.49 ( probably about $0.05 if that for the wire), and the stars were cut out of white card stock that I purchased for $1.50 for a pack of 50 on clearance at JoAnn's( so $0.03 for that). The patriotic ribbon was given to me ($0.00 for that). So for a grand total of  $ 0.18 I was able to make this lovely wreath. Can not beat that. I also made another one with Pittsburgh Steelers for the hubby for approx. the same price.

Well, thanks for stopping by and checking out my cheap and crafty project. Happy Crafting!!

Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!!!

Happy 4th of July to all my fellow crafters!!

Today is a day for us all to celebrate our wonderful country and freedom. Also, it is a day for us to thank all those awesome service women and men that have helped to continue those freedoms. Furthermore, it is a day for us to pray for those service women and men that have not been able to come home to their families and to pray for those that have and continue to need out prayers. For those that are home continue to relive those awful days and need our support. So I say THANK YOU and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!

Now on to my craft for the 4th .....

This idea came from one of my blogs that I follow, Organizing Homelife. I changed it up a little from hers. I cut the squares 2x2 and hot glued instead of pinned. I will have a step by step photo tutorial soon on one that I made for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Well, now onto eating celebrating!!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my creation. Happy crafting!!!

Altered towel rack

So I purchased this used towel rack from a local resale store called the  Habitat for Humanity Restore.I only paid $2.00 for it and I kept looking at it hanging over the door and decided that I
wanted to repurpose it.

I decided it would make a great place to hang all my stickers, bling, rub-ons, etc.......

I added big black office paper clips on to hang all the items from.It turned out pretty good and serves its purpose.

So What do you think of my little project? I really like it. I, now, have a little extra space to put things now. Like i need more space! Now I guess that gives me an excuse to go craft shopping. LOL.

Hubby will love that!

Well, thanks for stopping by and having a look. Happy Crafting, All!!! :)

Scrapbook page for my grandson

Well I decided to start a scrapbook for my grandson, Josiah. I am such a really proud grandma("Granny" as his daddy would put it!) So I guess I am a really proud granny!LOL! That just seems so funny to be called "granny", Grandma, grandmother,etc... Wow, Grandma! That's me, just cant believe it. Well. enough rambling. on with the pics.

I used the Sugar and Spice cricut cartridge for the sippy cup, bottle, and the love symbol. Not too sure the sizes I cut them at.I was not going to post this I do not know why, so i didnt writ down anything.  I know the cart was made for lil' girls but I thought these would be perfect. I just choose boy colors. Hey, what the heck, right!

I made a little take that can be pulled out and it has all his hospital information, like height, weight, time, etc....

The little prince is from the same cartridge, Sugar and Spice. I cut out "Little Princess" and cut off the ss from the end. The crown is a charm that I just had laying around. Not too sure what it is from. The word "sweet" is from a pack of Making Memories " Eclectic Metal Signs" The pearls are some $1 ones from Michaels.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. More pages to come.

Pictures from the baby shower

I made mini diaper cakes and put two on each table. I have close-up pics of these on a previous post if you would like to check them out.
I put dinner mints in these bags and added thank you tags in the color of the shower, I put easter
grass on the center of all the tables, and sat out little mints that said It's a Boy
These are the banners I made, they turned out super cute!
The gift table.I ended up forgetting the roll of table cover so I didn't get to do the tables the way I wanted. Now I  know for next time!I hung little monkeys from the corners of the tables and the chair for mommy to open her gifts in.

                                                         Sorry this is sideways, OOPS!
The cake was purchased at the local grocery store, it turned out really cute
This is the gift table before all the gifts arrived
These are the labels I made for the water bottles. They say Marcus and Maranda's baby shower and
 the date
                                                             Me and mommy to be
Ultrasound of precious Josiah and pics of mommy and daddy,my son Marcus
This was a little monkey I found at the local Walmart
This is the gift table with the banners I made, one said It's A Boy and the other says The baby's name, Josiah, also the diaper cake I made.

I had fun creating all the decorations for the shower. It was KINDA frustrating at time with all the commotion of my little ones, but well worth it. I wouldn't mind doing it again. Crafting relaxes me and put me in a much better mind set. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my creations.Happy crafting!!

A quote that will make you think

Today I was blog surfin' and taking a look at some DYI things trying to get a few ideas.Well, I came accrossed one with a very inspirational quote.Well at least to me it was. I am not quite sure which blog it was, so sorry. Here it is:

An old Cherokee told his grandson, "My son, there's a battle between

                                        two wolves in us all."

One is Evil. It's anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies

                                                and ego.

The other is Good. It's joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness,

empathy, and truth. The grandson thought about it and then asked

                          his grandfather, "Which one wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed!"

Baby shower gifts and decorations

Well, as I have posted in previous posts, I have a wonderful grandson on the way named Josiah(can't wait til he arrives :) and have been crafting items for the shower. Here are the centerpieces for the tables. I am going to add more pictures after I set up for the shower on Sunday. That way everyone can see how they look on the tables.Seven size 4 diapers were used in each mini diaper cake. The shredded paper is from The local Dollar Tree and the palms are from Michaels.

Also, I had visited over at Alex's blog, You Had Me At Craft, and seen this wonderful Palm tree diaper cake. I done my own little tweeks to it and here is what I came up with. Thank you Alex!!!! I used a carpet tube for the trunk of the tree and made two circles out of cardboard to form the base to put the diapers around. The stones are 4 bags from the Dollar Tree and I just used constructions paper for the bark and leaves. The monkeys are from Michaels. Approx. 104 size 4 diapers were used.

I also made a "six pack of bottles" for the shower as a gift. They turned out super cute, I think.I have been having a ball making all the things for the shower.I wish I had more time in my day to do more crafting.Well, if nothing else, I will have plenty of time when I retire in 40- 50 yrs from now.LOL
