A quote that will make you think

     Today I was blog surfin' and taking a look at some DYI things trying to get a few ideas.Well, I came accrossed one with a very inspirational quote.Well at least to me it was. I am not quite sure which blog it was, so sorry. Here it is:

      An old Cherokee told his grandson, "My son, there's a battle between

                                        two wolves in us all."

    One is Evil. It's anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies

                                                and ego.

    The other is Good. It's joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness,

    empathy, and truth. The grandson thought about it and then asked

                          his grandfather, "Which one wins?"

                The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed!"

Baby shower gifts and decorations

     Well, as I have posted in previous posts, I have a wonderful grandson on the way named Josiah(can't wait til he arrives :) and have been crafting items for the shower. Here are the centerpieces for the tables. I am going to add more pictures after I set up for the shower on Sunday.That way everyone can see how they look on the tables.Seven size 4 diapers were used in each mini diaper cake.The shredded paper is from The local Dollar Tree and the palms are from Michaels.

     Also, I had visited over at Alex's blog, You Had Me At Craft, and seen this wonderful Palm tree diaper cake. I done my own little tweeks to it and here is what I came up with. Thank you Alex!!!! I used a carpet tube for the trunk of the tree and made two circles out of cardboard to form the base to put the diapers around.The stones are 4 bags from the Dollar Tree and I just used constructions paper for the bark and leaves. The monkeys are from Michaels. Approx. 104 size 4 diapers were used.

     I also made a "six pack of bottles" for the shower as a gift. They turned out super cute, I think.I have been having a ball making all the things for the shower.I wish I had more time in my day to do more crafting.Well, if nothing else, I will have plenty of time when I retire in 40- 50 yrs from now.LOL

                       Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my creations.Happy crafting!!!!

New Year's Hat

 I decided I wanted to make a New Year's project and my search began.I found a few different New Year's top hat ideas and so I thought that would be really cute. My neice Bobbi, my sister Chey, and I made some and this is how they turned out. My hat is the black and purple one in the middle. My neice Bobbi made the one with the four leaf clover, we all need a little luck sometimes.My big sis made the blue and white one on the right. We used sheets of foam to make the top hat and just embellished as we wanted.I really love how they turned out. I can not wait until I get a camera so I can make videos.I would really love to show how I make my projects. Well, I guess one thing at a time,right! Well, atleast we had a good time making them. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my projects. HAPPY NEW YEAR'S TO ALL!!!!

Teacher gifts I made for the kiddos' teachers

     So this year I decided to get creative and make the Christmas gifts for my kiddos' teachers.I made the gift bags out of the school news paper, some match book notepads for their purse or whatever, and a little set of 8 mini cards inside of a playing card box that I put together.

Recipe:
* For the cards and the match book pads I used a Recollections hand punch
* Not too sure of the card stock
* Random ribbon I had just laying around
* Michaels $1 stamp sentiments ( "Just a little note")
* Pattern for playing card box I found at www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/

Card:
* Cut 3 1/2 x 5
* Scored at 2 1/2

Match book:
* Cut 7 x 3
* Scored at 2 3/4, 3,and 6
* Paper inside match books cut 3 x 3 (about 12 or more, make sure you can staple)

Playing card box:
* Cut from pattern
* Decorated the same as the cards inside

     Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.I had fun makng them and had quiet time to myself. I thinks that is why I love crafting sooooooo much, because i get to relax and the Hubby keeps the kiddos away!!!Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I also added a mini pen to the set that is matching colors.
